Chateau Beychevelle

Chateau Beychevelle, located in the village of Saint-Julien-Beychevelle, has been classified in 1855* as one of ten Quatrieme Grand Cru - Fourth Growth.
The Chateau has been built in 1565. In ancient french, the name Beychevelle meant "lower the sails" which had to be made by boats for sign of allegiance to the Prime Duke of Epernon, owner of the prestigious estate.
Chateau Beychevelle is a typical Saint Julien wine, characterized by 3 words : round, rich (aromas) and powerful.
Also, Beychevelle produces a second wine named Amiral de Beychevelle.
